Doug and Jon Podium NATCAP 2014

On SS10 of the 2014 Rally of the Bay Doug, as he later described, "ran out of talent". Unfortunetly after passing through the spectator point Doug managed to get out in the soft dirt and collect a tree on exit.
The damage was reasonably light on the car and Doug did an admirable job of minimising the contact with the tree. Both crew were unhurt and they managed to get the car back to service. This put the team out of contact with the top runners in the rally, but 8th place was very respectable.
However even after the inicent Doug and Jon managed to set the 10th fastest time for the stage. Not bad with a damaged car.

Back at service the 2 rear drive shafts were replaced. This was something that has confused the team. The impact point was not actually on the rear wheel and there is no evidence of side impact on the suspension, diff or wheels.
A makeshift side window was constructed and the Subaru went out again to battle on.

On the next stage Doug and Jon managed to set the 6th fastest stage time. A testiment to the strength of the Subaru and the determination of the Rallypro team.

An awesome shot from Peter Norton of the Subaru front on, just after the impact. Note the window leaving the car.
A couple of helpful spectators later returned the window to the team.
